The location was outstanding being right on the edge of Dalby forrest. Away from it all but nearby for forrest life and coast. The view from our room was fantastic.

unfortunately the inside did not live up to the outside! Rooms very dated, poorly decorated, wallpaper hanging off etc... really needs a makeover. Too many supplements for everything. Such a shame as given the fantastic location this hotel has the potential to be amazing. I would not go back.

    Fabulous

    Very peaceful and restful

We were there to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday and although we did not want to drink an excessive amount of alcohol, we did find the bar prices rather high!

    Very good

The location and the grounds were stunning. the style of the building was lovely and romantic.

The bed in our room seemed a very cheap bed and was very uncomfortable. The blankets and top cover of the bed were very old and stained. The top cover on the bed was questionable as to when it had last been washed, it may have been stained with age.

    Fabulous

The hotel was a treat for us, quiet and out of the way, ideal to relax and wind down before moving further on our jourmey.Excellant, friendly staff, great food. No pressure to do anything you didn't want to do

The room was a little dated, duvets on the bed would be an advantage

Surrounding countryside, facilities(puttinc, mini golf , garden, Willingness of staff to supply early breakfast because of need to meet business appointment..Decor and cleanliness of main hotel facilities. Standard of service at the desk and in the dinig room,

Sighting and surrounds of the allocated overflow rooms which were not as stated in booking confirmation.Standard of bedrooms( bathroom door off its hinge, draw font fallen off)Bed was made but room not cleaned.Door left unlocked after "cleaning".

    Exceptional

We had a wonderful short break and felt the hotel represented excellent value for money. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom was particularly nice having a shower and bath to use. The grounds were really pleasant to walk around in and the pool and use of tennis courts made it all extra special. Being in the countryside where it was peaceful but only a short drive from Scarborough and surrounding locations meant we could make the most of our short time. The breakfast was very good offering a range of choices and the hot food was prepared very well.

My only criticisms were the telly in our room did not seem to work properly but I think there is a problem with the signal locally so this may explain this and perhaps there is nothing the hotel can do about this and as a vegetarian I would have liked the option of vegetarian sausages and or bacon at breakfast but other than those minor points the hotal was fabulous and I will recommend it to friends and family alike.

    Very good

All very nice but we booked a superior room and it was no way superior. Ordinary double bed and not king size. Overlooking the carpark . Really tiny bathroom Room 10. Didnt like the room. Would be interested to know why they called it Superior. Feel they could have messed up the booking and put us in a standard room. We were disappointed with the room especially as it was our anniversary. We asked to move but they wanted another £60 per night. Wine appalling price, cheapest £20 . Food wonderful and ambience wonderful.

    Good

    The location was beautiful.

Our first night we were unable to sleep properly due to the hardness of the mattress. At 5.30 am I went to reception but this was only manned by overnight staff who where unable to do anything until 7.30am.
